We visited UTSW today and did the round of MRIs, labs, doctors and results. This will be what the end of our six week cycle looks like for the next six months.
It was one of those appointments that we call “meh”. There was nothing miraculous. There was some improvement. There was some stability. There were some more things to call into question. So our amazing team of doctors will team up with more doctors and make sure that everything they have planned is the BEST plan for us. There will be more conversations and more testing over the next couple of weeks (merry Christmas)!
In the meantime, our little family is headed into the beginning of our next six week cycle! Brandon will begin his second round of chemo this coming Monday. They are increasing the dosage because Brandon has rockstar strong blood and is tolerating everything well!
As for “us” —our face is turned towards our God. The one who has led us, sustained us, comforted us, and healed…..over and over again. In the shelter of His wings He gives us REST. We are abiding there and WAITING for our new direction. Our prayers this week will be centered around entering this new six week cycle which begins Monday and will end the week of January 16th. We will be praying that these “foreign” cells will be caught off guard and just destroyed. We will be praying that after they are destroyed that rebuilding and healing will cycle again in Brandon’s body and mind and spirit. We will be praying that this disease will not have the power to steal or kill or destroy this season of advent which brings hope, joy, peace, and love into this world. We welcome your prayers!
Tuesday, Brandon gets his most anticipated Christmas gift….his leg brace and beginning his new PT regimen. Brandon’s goal is to walk (in its entirety) his favorite 5k in May, Head for the Cure. This is a lofty goal since right now his right leg and foot are very weak. We welcome your prayers!
Hope is leading us right now. We thank each of YOU for continuing to journey with us—-we know FOR SURE (faith is the assurance of things not yet seen but hoped for) that in the very end “this” will all be made completely RIGHT.
Until then……”let us hold fast the confession of our HOPE without wavering, for HE WHO PROMISED IS FAITHFUL”- Hebrews 10:23
We love you all and are eternally grateful for all of your prayers, cheers, messages, calls…..all of it matters to us. Thank you!
